Hosted by members of the Arts Working Group, Paul will be sharing his team’s experiences of reopening with their summer programme and their first live performance which took place on Saturday, 22nd May.
Despite being open for only a few months of 2020, Komedia managed to win both the Chortle Awards Best Venue in the South for 2020 and the 2020 Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Award.
Komedia’s programmers used their unexpected interlude to throw their efforts into returning with an exciting and diverse selection of over 26 shows, spanning from May 22 to June 26 whilst social distancing restrictions are in place. Tickets will be sold as tables of two, four and six to ensure safe distancing, and table service will be available at every show.
To adhere to social distancing rules, Komedia only offers table service at all shows. Safety features also include that masks are worn when not eating or drinking, temperatures are taken on arrival, contact details are captured on booking for Track & Trace, socially distanced seating is in place as well as table service at all shows, there is a fresh air supply in show spaces, frequence cleaning of touch points, a one-way-system in place, an increased cleaning before every show.
Have spent time the past 14 months of closure working on an exciting refresh to the venue. Including replacing the floor after a flood, redecorating and given the venue a much needed freshen up. Komedia also streamed some shows and took their main programme of events to the Warren on the beach during last summer.
