A History of RECHARGE: From 2016 to 2024
Since its inception in 2016, RECHARGE has steadily grown into a pivotal event for the arts and cultural sector. What began as a small conference aimed at addressing the challenges of a changing industry has evolved into a dynamic platform that unites professionals across the UK and Ireland.
The Beginning: Userdays!
We’re taking it way back to the days of our first brand ambassador, Louie! RECHARGE is born from the Ticketsolve Userdays. These Userdays were an amazing way for us to connect with the Ticketsolve Community Members.
These days have now been transformed into our summer workshop series. This year, we hosted 14 workshops all across the UK and Ireland.
Over the years, RECHARGE has consistently adapted to the shifting landscape, expanding its focus to include innovative strategies and technologies that support the sector’s resilience. The conference's growing popularity is a testament to its relevance, with each year’s conference attracting more delegates and speakers than the previous year.
The Middle: Ticketsolve Forum
In 2018, our Userdays grew into the Ticketsolve Forum and left a lasting impact on all who attended. Held at the Leicester Square Theatre in London and the Projects Art Centre in Dublin, these essential gatherings brought together industry leaders to explore the transformative power of data in the arts sector.
Our 2019 Forum was a standout event, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended. Held at the Leicester Square Theatre in London and the Projects Art Centre in Dublin, these essential gatherings brought together industry leaders to explore the transformative power of data in the arts sector.
The forum highlighted data’s vital role in driving decisions within the arts. Our expert speakers shared their knowledge on marketing, fundraising, and organisational management, offering attendees actionable insights on data utilisation and benchmarking to keep pace with the ever-evolving industry.
The Result: RECHARGE
In 2023, we went live with our first ever RECHARGE! The theme for Ticketsolve’s 2023 annual forum was all about taking a moment and giving everyone the chance to RECHARGE. Taking place in London and Dublin in February and March, RECHARGE brought together industry experts and professionals for a series of presentations and interactive sessions focused on putting together the right recipes for setting organisations up for success.
And Now, in 2024 RECHARGE has solidified its place as a must-attend event, bringing together thought leaders and practitioners from across the creative industries. It has become more than just a conference and its meaning fuels creativity, fosters innovation, and empowers professionals to thrive despite the challenges they face.
The evolution of RECHARGE reflects the sector’s journey—from grappling with survival to embracing a future where thriving is possible. As we prepare for RECHARGE 2024, we look forward to continuing this legacy, pushing boundaries, and igniting the energy that drives our sector forward.
